The Samsung Galaxy S5 arrives finally


Goodbye to a long wait and gossips. The new Samsung Galaxy S5 known as the ‘smartphone avatar of 2014’ has been launched. On April 11, Samsung will present this latest phone in 150 countries. The Samsung Galaxy S5 was the most awaited smartphone at Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress ( MWC 2014 ). It was presented on the Congress’s first day itself.

The S5 is the latest addition to the Galaxy S series and according to Samsung, the phone’s features include – superior camera, fast connectivity, fitness options that give priority to healthcare and better phone security.

The Galaxy S5 provides more security with the Fingerprint Scanner that makes available the biometric screen locking feature. The Fingerprint Scanner is located at the Home button. The S5 is protected by the advanced Samsung KNOX  safety software that secures the user’s data. Thus the Galaxy S5 can be used to securely make cash transactions. The phone is water and dust proof. Truly speaking, the Galaxy S5 is categorised as a phablet because it comes between a tablet computer and smartphone. The S5 is a 5.1 inch phone with the eye-catching FHD Super AMOLED 1920 x 1080 display with compete HD resolution.



The phone gets its power from a 2.5 GHz Quadcore processor. It includes 2 GB RAM and Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) platform! The phone with 16 GB and 32 GB internal storage   weighs 145 grams. The memory can be expanded with 64 GB card. The Galaxy S5 has a 16 megapixel camera. Samsung claims that the Galaxy S5 has the world’s fastest autofocus speed (up to 0.3 second). Using the ‘Selective Focus’ feature,  certain portion of an object to be photographed can be focused while the remaining can be blurred. The phone has a 2.1 megapixel front camera for video calling and conferencing. The phone has a 2800 mAh battery that provides 21 hours talk time and 390 hours standby. The Ultra Power Saving Mode makes the display black and white as well as switch off unnecessary features in order to help the battery last more time.

The Galaxy S 5 has all advanced connectivity options. 4G LTE, WiFi, ANT Plus, Bluetooth, USB 3.0, NFC as well as Infrared Remote functionality. The Galaxy S5 arrives with the improved S Health 3.0 technology. According to Samsung, the phone has more options to increase fitness. A heart rate sensor is fitted near the camera. For up to date fitness coaching, Galaxy S5 works in coordination with new generation gear smart watch. The Galaxy S5 will be available in black, white, blue and golden colours.
